Employee shift patterns
When the Honor Employee Fixed Status
rule is selected, employees can be
assigned a fixed schedule instead of, or in addition to, optimized shifts created by the shift
rules. The Employee Shift Pattern form is used to configure fixed
schedules for individual employees. In that form, the Fixed
Shift Type option determines how an employee's schedule is created around the
fixed shifts:
- When Only is selected, the employee is scheduled to the shifts from the Employee Shift Pattern form only.
- When Partial is selected, the employee is scheduled to the shifts from the Employee Shift Pattern form. The employee may be scheduled to additional shifts using the shift rules.
- When None is selected, the employee is scheduled to shifts using the shift rules only. The employee is not scheduled to any shifts from the Employee Shift Pattern form.
Fixed shifts created through Employee Shift Pattern form may be outside of the hours of operation of a department. This can be used to schedule employees that must perform tasks when the store is closed.
The auto assignment system can support multiple shift patterns for employees on a single day. This means employees can have different shift patterns assigned for weekdays, weekends, or any other specific criteria.
The auto assignment process considers all eligible shift patterns for each employee and selects the most appropriate one based on predefined rules and constraints. This intelligent selection ensures optimal shift allocations, maximizes staffing efficiency, and maintains compliance with scheduling policies.
By supporting multiple employee shift patterns, the scheduling system offers enhanced flexibility and adaptability to meet diverse scheduling needs across different departments and roles.
