Skills in MVS

Skills can be used in MVS as an additional qualification for shifts when designing schedule templates or when creating shifts in other MVS components. When the Honor Required Skills rule is selected, employees must have all mandatory skills before they can be assigned for a shift. This rule should be selected in environments where employees require specific certifications or licenses to do their jobs. The Honor Optional Skills rule can be selected to give preference to employees that possess all non-mandatory skills required by a shift. Because this rule is a preference, employees who lack a non-mandatory skill may still be assigned to a shift if other employees that possess the skill are not available.
