Archiving

Archiving is a process of removing infrequently used data from a relational database and storing that data at a location where the data is easily retrievable. The archiving module performs this function and purges data from the core data source. These processes are necessary since idle data can slow the performance of a database and therefore directly affect the performance of the Infor Workforce Management (WFM) application.

This is a general outline of the process of running archive policies in WFM:

1. Reviewing the defined policy details in the defined priority
2. Resolving the WHERE clause.
3. Specifying archive or purge data, based on the archive type.
4. Creating a transaction in the WB_ARCHIVE_TRANS table with details on how many records were processed.
5. Notifying users through Workmail about the processing status.
