Creating custom lookup data types

You can create custom data lookup types and define the column names. Before performing these steps, you must configure security group permissions to expose the Custom Lookup Data Type maintenance form.

  1. Select Maintenance > System Administration > Custom Lookup Data Type.
  2. Click Create New Entry.
  3. Specify this information:
    Name
    Specify the name of the custom data lookup type.
    Description
    Specify a description for the custom data lookup type.
  4. In the remaining fields, specify column names for the columns to be used for data records created of this type.
    These data types are available:
    • Text
    • Number
    • Char
    • Decimal Number
    • Date
    • UDF
    • Flag
  5. Click Save.
The data lookup type is created and can be used to create new data records.
