Collection security

Dashboards are grouped in collections. Collections may or may not be visible to a Space Group based on the permissions set on the Collection Folder in the Report Catalog. A user should belong to a Space Group that has permission to view a specific collection. This ensures that the user can view the collection in the Birst navigation. Not all dashboards are visible and accessible to a user.

Private Collections are collections that were marked private by a user. These collections and the dashboards they contain are no longer visible to anyone but the user that marked them private. They only show for the same user in the Birst navigation and they are marked with a padlock icon before the collection name. All of the dashboard names within the private collection are also preceded by a padlock icon indicating that they are private as well.
