Asynchronous Processing Task

The Asynchronous Processing Task is used to generate payroll export data for payroll close processes that are user-initiated, rather than automatically generated according to a regular schedule. The task can be configured to write the payroll data for one or more specified pay groups to either a payroll export file or a staging table in the database.

The Asynchronous Processing Task is initiated through the Payroll Close Wizard when the user clicks Export Now.

See Step 4: Review.

After Export Now is clicked, the Payroll Close Wizard places pay groups in a queue to be picked up by the Asynchronous Processing Task. The task reads the pay group parameters defined by the Payroll Close Wizard. By default, the Asynchronous Processing Task is set to run every 30 minutes after Export Now is clicked.

After the output is generated, the pay period dates are advanced to the next scheduled pay period, and an email confirming the completion of the payroll export is sent to the supervisor or payroll administrator.
