Auto-Assignment model for generating LFSO schedules

In this release, the Auto-Assignment model for LFSO may be suitable for new customers that can satisfy their scheduling needs using the Auto-Assignment rule set. Future releases will add additional features to the Auto-Assignment model. The existing ScheduleOptimizerBroker model is still fully supported. Upgrading customers may be better served by continuing to use the ScheduleOptimizerBroker model. Upgrading customers who want to transition to the new model should consult the documentation to determine how Auto-Assignment would support your scheduling requirements.

The Auto-Assignment model can be used to generate schedules in LFSO. Similar to the previous ScheduleOptimizerBroker model, the Auto-Assignment model attempts to create an optimized schedule by automatically generating shifts and assigning them to available employees. The new model also optimizes additional aspects of the schedule, such as the timing of breaks.

The Auto-Assignment model provides a streamlined configuration process that gives greater control over the rules that govern schedule creation. Each rule can be set as a preference, constraint, or hard constraint, which are never broken under any circumstances. The primary configuration point for the Auto-Assignment model is the creation of Auto-Assignment groups. Auto-Assignment groups are where you can configure the shift and break times for a location and the schedule rules. Auto-Assignment groups are also where you select the groups of employees that use the same set of rules.

See the Infor Workforce Management Auto-Assignment Implementation Guide for details on configuring Auto-Assignment for LFSO.
