Shift transactions in Central Staffing

Users can perform these shift transactions in Central Staffing:

  • Create an assigned ad-hoc shift.
  • Create one or more unassigned ad-hoc shifts.
  • Assign an employee to an unassigned shift.
  • Unassign an employee from a shift.
  • Edit the details, times, skills, and labor metrics of a shift.
  • View shift details for locked shifts.
  • Book off an entire shift or parts of a shift.
  • Cancel book offs for entire shifts or parts of a shift. When a book off is canceled, associated relief shifts can be designated with Action Required (AR) status, converted to ad-hoc shifts, or removed from the schedule.
  • Swap shifts between two employees or between an employee and an unassigned shift.
  • Revert a shift swap that was previously performed in Central Staffing or ASV.
  • Cancel billboard shift postings to remove a shift from the Shift Billboard and enable editing on the shift.

Shift transactions are validated to ensure that the transactions are valid and do not introduce schedule compliance errors, shift overlaps, or employee qualification mismatches into the schedule. Transactions are not allowed if they would cause errors in the schedule. Users are warned when a transaction would cause warnings, but they can confirm the warnings and perform the transaction.
