Restricting employee shift posts by security group

The ability for employees to post to billboard can be controlled based on security group membership. For example, you can allow permanent employees, who are in the EMPLOYEE security group, to post their assigned shifts to billboard, and you can disable shift posting for temporary employees, who are in the TEMPORARY security group. Element security settings can be used to control which security groups may post shifts.

In the Self Service Portal, these buttons can be hidden to disable shift posting for a security group: Post, Withdraw, and Post/Withdraw.

See "Hiding the post and withdraw buttons" in the Infor Workforce Management Self Service Portal Administration Guide.

In mobility, these fields in the MOB_SCHEDULE maintenance form can be configured to enable or disable shift posting for a security group:
  • The FIELD_MYSCHEDULE_TAB_MYSCHEDULE_POST_SHIFT_ICON field controls if a security group can see the Post a Shift icon when they select one of their assigned shifts that can be posted to the billboard in mobility. The permission for this field must be set to Act for security groups whose members are allowed to post their assigned shifts. This allows members of the security group to see the Post a Shift icon. If this field is set to View or Deny for a security group, members of the group are not allowed to post their assigned shifts. This hides the Post a Shift icon for security group members.
  • The GROUP_MYSCHEDULE_TAB_MYSCHEDULE field is the parent field for FIELD_MYSCHEDULE_TAB_MYSCHEDULE_POST_SHIFT_ICON. The permission for the parent field must also be set to Act for security groups whose members are allowed to post their assigned shifts. If the permission for the parent field is set to View or Deny for a security group, the Post a Shift icon is not displayed when members of that security group select their assigned shifts in mobility.

It is important to note that the Post a Shift icon is only displayed when a shift is selected if the shift passes the required validations. For example, at least a part of the shift must occur during the posting window.

For details on setting permission settings for mobility fields, see "Security Permissions" in the Infor Workforce Management Mobility Administration Guide.
