Clock actions

Employees can perform clock actions in the Self Service Portal using presets or labor metric updates. Each preset is associated with a clock type, which is either ON, OFF, or a labor metric value. Each labor metric can also be configured to be treated as an ON type.

When a user clocks in the Self Service Portal, the clock action is validated based on clock rules and validation. All clock punches created in the Self Service Portal have a pending status. When the Process Clock task runs in the job scheduler, it processes these pending clocks. A clock transaction record is created when clock processing is successful.

When a clock transaction is created, it contains this information:

  • Clock type
  • Clock date
  • Clock time (for example, GMTOFFSET=-14400)
  • DST flag (for example, DST=T)
  • Time zone (TZ)
  • Latitude (LAT) and longitude (LNG)
  • Labor metric data (for example, TCODE=BRK)
  • Customized clock data

After being processed by the job scheduler, a successful clock transaction is displayed on the timesheet.
