Examples

This section includes some practical examples of shifts that violate or pass this schedule compliance rule.

Example Configuration

These examples use these configuration settings, unless otherwise noted:

Min Hours Required: 10

Day Week Starts: Sunday

Enforce Calendar Day Cut: Clear

Example 1 - Violation (too few hours)

Employee A is scheduled to work:

  • Monday 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM
  • Tuesday 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM
  • Wednesday 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM
  • Thursday 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM

Schedule compliance returns a violation because the employee is scheduled 8 hours for the week.

Example 2 - Violation (Day Week Starts)

Employee B is scheduled to work:

  • Saturday 10:00 PM - 6:00 AM (previous week)
  • Monday 8:00 AM - 10:00 AM
  • Tuesday 8:00 AM - 10:00 AM
  • Wednesday 8:00 AM - 10:00 AM
  • Thursday 8:00 AM - 10:00 AM

Schedule compliance returns a violation because the employee is scheduled 8 hours for the week. Saturday’s 10:00 PM to Sunday at 6:00 AM scheduled hours are attributed to the previous week.

Example 3 - Pass

Employee C is scheduled to work:

  • Monday 8:00 AM - 10:00 AM
  • Tuesday 8:00 AM - 10:00 AM
  • Wednesday 8:00 AM - 10:00 AM
  • Thursday 8:00 AM - 10:00 AM
  • Saturday 10:00 PM - Sunday 6:00 AM

Schedule compliance does not return a violation because the employee is scheduled 16 hours for the week. Saturday’s 10:00 PM to Sunday at 6:00 AM scheduled hours are attributed to the current week.

Example 4 - Pass (Enforce Calendar Day Cut enabled)

In this example, Enforce Calendar Day Cut is selected for the schedule compliance group.

Employee D is scheduled to work:

  • Saturday 10:00 PM - 6:00 AM (previous week)
  • Monday 8:00 AM - 10:00 AM
  • Tuesday 8:00 AM - 10:00 AM
  • Wednesday 8:00 AM - 10:00 AM
  • Thursday 8:00 AM - 10:00 AM

Schedule compliance does not return a violation because the employee is scheduled 14 hours for the week. The Saturday shift's hours from 12:00 AM to 6:00 AM are attributed to the current week.

Example 5 - Violation (Enforce Calendar Day Cut enabled)

In this example, Enforce Calendar Day Cut is selected for the schedule compliance group.

Employee E is scheduled to work:

  • Tuesday 8:00 AM - 10:00 AM
  • Wednesday 8:00 AM - 10:00 AM
  • Thursday 8:00 AM - 10:00 AM
  • Saturday 10:00 PM - 6:00 AM

Schedule compliance returns a violation because the employee is scheduled 8 hours for the week. The Saturday shift's hours from 12:00 AM to 6:00 AM are attributed to the next week.
