Managing on-call shifts in ASV

From the ASV, you can edit on-call type shifts. You can also assign an unassigned on-call type shift. If the on-call type shift is scheduled ad-hoc, you can also delete or unassign the on-call type shift.

Note: You cannot unassign or delete on-call shifts scheduled using MR or OTS. To remove these shifts, you must perform a book-off using an OFF type activity.

On-call type shifts can also be booked off. Relief shift generation is identical to regular book-offs.

You can add work time to an on-call type shift, including callback. The work time added to the on-call time must produce contiguous or overlapping time (no gap). The event is recorded as a shift update in Shift History. If work time is present in a shift containing on-call time, then a break can also be added within the duration of work time.

Work time added to a shift containing on-call time can be edited like regular shifts.

To visually identify shifts containing on-call time and shifts containing on-call and work time, different icons are displayed. A hollow phone icon indicates on-call without work time. A filled phone icon indicates on-call with work time. These indicators provide an at-a-glance view of who is on-call, and who has been called back into work.
