Shift cell description

The shift assignments are organized into a calendar-like format with rows of shift cells.

The shift cells display these information components.

  • Shift label code.
  • Shift status icons such as the swap icon or the cloning icon.
  • Schedule compliance icons. See Shift schedule compliance icons.
  • Short codes, if configured. Short codes are mapped to shift detail flags and are displayed when the associated flag is selected on a shift. See Shift short code indicators.
  • Optionally, the availability of the employee for the shift.
  • Optionally, the start and end times of the shift.
  • Optionally, the job for the shift.
  • Optionally, the unit to which the shift applies.
  • Optionally, the preferred shift for the employee. This preference can be different from the shift.
  • Optionally, the activity of the shift.
  • Optionally, a shift description in plain text up to 20 characters.
Note: The longer the description the greater the space taken in the shift cell for the description. Also, this description is not date effective, which means the text can be changed without causing date-effective shift changes.

The optional components are selected and unselected using the display options.
