Viewing Schedule Statistics

You can view the following schedule statistics:

  • Scheduled Hours - This calculation provides the sum of the duration of each shift that has an employee assigned to it.
  • Unscheduled Hours - This calculation provides the sum of the duration of any unstaffed shifts.
  • Required Hours Total - This calculation provides the sum of all the scheduled hours and all the unscheduled hours. Note that if the schedule is completely empty (that is, no shifts have been created and the schedule is only showing the coverage), then the required hours calculations will return zero.
  • Filled - This calculation provides the sum of all the staffed shifts for the entire retrieved schedule period, whether defined in the staffing requirements or not. (For example, if the scheduler creates an ad-hoc shift and staffs it, that shift is included).
  • Open - This calculation provides the sum of the differences between actual coverage and required coverage (Required Coverage - Actual Coverage) excluding any negative numbers. The reason for this is if Job A’s coverage is 2/1 (1 job required but 2 jobs filled) and Job B’s coverage is 0/1 (1 job required and 0 jobs filled), OPEN jobs would sum to be 0 (Required - Actual; in this case, the total jobs required sums to 2 and the total jobs filled also sums to 2), when the actual number of open required jobs is 1.
  • Total - This calculation provides the sum of all the filled jobs and all the open jobs.

To view schedule statistics:

  1. Click Stats in the Toolbar panel. The Schedule Statistics panel is displayed.
  2. Click Hide to hide the Schedule Statistics panel.

Editing the schedule automatically dismisses the Schedule Statistics panel, as does selecting any of the other options from the Toolbar panel. To refer to updated statistics, reopen the panel by clicking Stats again.

If teams with different schedule periods are retrieved, the calculation covers the entire schedule period retrieved; even though part of the schedule for some of the teams has not yet been created and it doesn't yet have the appropriate shift assignments.
