Time Attributes

Time attributes, such as shift, shift offset before/after, work date, do not factor into the matching process but, the day part and job times (Start/End time) attributes do. Job times and day parts are handled differently by the processor.

Job times are “buckets“ of time that can overlap. Job times for a staffed shift must exactly match the job times for the staffing requirements. For example, if you have a job time requirement of 9:00 - 17:00, only a shift that has a job time that starts at 9:00 AM and ends at 5:00 PM can be deemed a match.

Day parts are segments of non-overlapping time. Day parts for a staffed shift can cross the day parts for the staffing requirements. For example, if you have Night (00:00-06:00), Morning (06:00-12:00), Afternoon (12:00-18:00), and Evening (18:00-24:00) day parts in your staffing requirements and a staffed shift from 9:00- 17:00, a match can occur. (Unstaffed shifts would be created for the remainder of the staffing requirements day parts that were not covered (06:00-9:00 and 17:00-18:00).)
