Adding Fixed Shifts

  1. Select Scheduling > Schedule Optimization > Setup > Configuration Editor.
  2. Select or search or refine employees as necessary in the Navigation Pane.
  3. Select the employees to which you want to add fixed shift information in the Results section.
  4. Click the Fixed Shift tab.
    When the employee is already assigned to fixed shifts (either partial or only) in their employee settings, the displayed fields are immediately editable. Otherwise, you must click New to begin fixed shift configuration.
  5. Specify a number representing the number of days in the fixed shift pattern in the Days field.
  6. Select the day the fixed shift pattern begins from the Start drop-down-list box.
  7. Select the date the fixed shift pattern becomes effective using the Effective calendar.
  8. Do one of these actions:
    • Select the date the fixed shift pattern should end using the End calendar.
    • Select the Forever check box to indicate that the fixed shift pattern continues into the foreseeable future.
  9. Select a shift group using the Shift Group lookup.
    Shift groups are configured by selecting Maintenance > schedule settings > shift Group.
  10. Select one of these options from the Fixed Schedule drop-down-list box:
    • None - employee has no fixed shift pattern.
    • Only - employee is assigned to only the fixed shift pattern.
    • Partial - employee is assigned to a partial fixed shift pattern. The employee can be assigned additional shifts generated by the Optimizer.
  11. Specify the shift times and shift labor details as necessary. Click Add Labor to add rows of fields in which to specify shift labor details.
    You can use the cover link to view the staffing requirements. You can also use the copy and paste icons to copy details across multiple days.
  12. Click Save.
