Employee information

The scheduling process must unite the labor demand with the employees who are qualified to perform that labor. The employees must be configured in the system, and their qualifications, availability, and other work details must also be in the system. Much of this information can be interfaced from the HR system, but some may be maintained in the system.

This table shows the type of employee information that is required and the typical source for that information:

Fixed shifts are recurring shifts assigned to employees that are not created through schedule optimization. These are typically maintained using the Employee Shift Pattern form, because it is uncommon for fixed shifts to be maintained on a separate system.
