Warning users when viewing timesheets in a prior pay period

You can configure the timesheet to warn users when viewing timesheets in a prior pay period. For example, this feature can be used to deter managers from making negative adjustments to previously exported timesheets.

For this feature, both an Adjustment icon and a warning message can be configured.

  1. Select Timesheet.
  2. Click the Turn ON config mode icon.
  3. In the Timesheet Selection page, select any employee in the Employee field.
  4. Select Last Pay Period from the Date Selection drop-down list, and click Load.
  5. To configure the Adjustment icon, click the security (key) icon for TS_PRIOR_PERIOD_ADJUSTMENTS in the header. The security key is located between the Absent icon and the Detail field.
The Adjustment icon is not displayed by default and must be enabled through security.
  6. Select the user's security group from the Security Group drop-down list.
  7. Select Act from the Permission Flag drop-down list.
  8. Click Save and close the window.
The Adjustment icon is shown for each day in a prior pay period. When the day is in a prior pay period and no adjustment exists on the day, the icon will be black. When the day is in a prior pay period and an adjustment exists on the day, the icon will be blue.
  9. To configure the warning message, click the security (key) icon for DTS_PRIOR_PERIOD_WARNING at the bottom of the timesheet. The security key is located above the Submit button.
The warning message is not displayed by default and must be enabled through security.
  10. Select the user's security group from the Security Group drop-down list.
  11. Select Act from the Permission Flag drop-down list.
  12. Click Save and close the window.
The warning message is displayed when one or more of the days presented on the timesheet fall within a prior pay period (related to the pay group associated with the timesheet day). The warning message is accompanied by the Issues icon. The same warning message is also displayed on the override pop-up windows related to prior pay period timesheets.
  13. Optionally, click the localization (orange diamond) icon for PRIOR_PAY_PERIOD_WARNING to update the warning message.
  14. In the Localized To field, update the warning message as required for each locale.
  15. Click Save and close the window.
  16. Click the Turn OFF config mode icon.
