Enabling Supervisor Mode

This section provides information about enabling, disabling and configuring Supervisor mode in the TimeTrack clock. Supervisors can clock in and clock out for other employees. They can also start and end meal breaks, change jobs, and perform other labor metric punches such as changing a Department, Project, Timecode, or Docket.

You should also note this important information about using Supervisor Mode:

  • Supervisors should clock in and clock out and perform other clock punches as a regular employee and not in Supervisor Mode. This ensures that the employee can approve their time records.
  • Supervisors cannot approve the time of other employees.
  • Supervisor mode requires a badge to be defined in WFM and set to Supervisor. Contact your system administrator for more information on setting this up.
  1. Select Maintenance > Reader Setup > Reader Configurations > Reader Configuration Setup.
  2. Click Edit for your current reader configuration.
  3. In the Configuration Properties search box, specify supervisor and click Find.
  4. For the feature.supervisor_mode property, specify Y to enable Supervisor Mode or N to disable.
  5. Click Save.
  6. You can also modify these additional properties that relate to Supervisor Mode depending on your business requirements:
    timeout.supervisor_mode
    validation.same_minute.skip_in_supervisor_mode
    validation.schedule.skip_in_supervisor_mode
    validation.consecutive_types.skip_in_supervisor_mode
    validation.break_length.skip_in_supervisor_mode
