Addressing missed swipes

If the Scheduled Swipes module has been implemented by your system administrator, missed swipes will appear after you perform a clock punch such as a Clock In or a Clock Out.

The following procedure uses a Clock In as an example to illustrate how to address missed swipes.

  1. Access the HTML clock on your supported device.
  2. Enter your badge number and select Clock In.
  3. If PIN authentication is enabled, enter your PIN and select Enter.
  4. Missed swipes are now presented and display this information on your HTML Clock:
    • The total number of missed swipes.
    • The user's first name, last name and badge number.
    • The swipe type, date and time for the missed swipes.
    • An enabled pencil icon Enabled pencil icon if the missed swipe can be addressed.
    • A disabled pencil icon Disabled pencil icon if other missed swipes should be addressed first.
  5. If the Escalate button appears at the bottom of your missed swipes, you can choose to not address all of the missed swipes for the day by clicking Escalate. This will escalate the missed swipes to your supervisor and these missed swipes will not appear again for this day.

If you choose not to do this, you can proceed to the next step in this procedure.

  6. Click the enabled pencil icon to address the missed swipe. The Edit Missed Swipe screen is displayed.
  7. Select the date for the missed swipe. You have a choice of three different days.
  8. Select the time for the missed swipe.
  9. Once you are satisfied with the date and time click Submit. The Confirmation Required screen is displayed.
  10. The Confirmation Required screen displays the date and time that you selected for the missed swipe and a disclaimer stating that you agree the information being submitted is correct. Once you have read the disclaimer, click Yes if you agree and want to submit your selected date and time for the missed swipe.
You can also click No to go back to the Edit Missed Swipe screen and enter a new date and time.
  11. The pencil icon for the swipe that you just addressed should now be disabled. You can now proceed to address the next missed swipe for the day, if there are any.
  12. Once you have addressed all missed swipes for a day, the missed swipes for the next day (if any) are presented. You can address these missed swipes using a similar process as described above.
  13. Once you have addressed all missed swipes for all days, the confirmation screen for your initial Clock In swipe is displayed. Click OK to acknowledge the confirmation and you will be returned to the main screen of the HTML Clock.

You should also not the following about the time spent addressing missed swipes:

  • When missed swipes are reviewed as part of a Clock Out punch, the time spent addressing missed swipes is included in your worked time.
  • When missed swipes are reviewed as part of an End Break punch, the time spent addressing missed swipes is not included in your break time.
