Approving time during a swipe (Clock In or Clock Out)

  1. Swipe your badge.
Note: You may not have to enter a badge number if your administrator has enabled Identificationmode for biometric validation. If this is the case, only a fingerprint is required for authentication. For more information, contact your system administrator.
  2. If authentication is required, provide a PIN number or your fingerprint.
  3. Press the appropriate key to clock-in or clock-out (Clock In (F1) key or Clock Out (F5) key).
  4. If there are time approval records for you to approve, the records are displayed with the following information as an example:
    • Start Date: Monday January 1, 2018
    • End Date: Monday January 1, 2018
    • Hours Worked: 8 HRS 30 MINS

If the Time Approval feature is disabled or there are no time approval records to display, you are returned to normal clock operations.

  5. Select one of these options:
    • Approve (F5): Approve the time reflected and have the time recorded on the timesheet. If additional records exist then the next record will display, otherwise the Time Approval Complete message will display.
    • Reject (F6): Reject the time reflected and work hours will be recorded as such on the timesheet. Your supervisor should follow-up with you regarding any rejected records. If additional records exist then the next record will display, otherwise the Time Approval Complete message will display.
    • Skip (F7): Defer your decision about the time record presented. If additional records exist then the next record will display, otherwise the Time Approval Complete message will display. Skipped records will continue to be displayed to the employee every time the time approval process is initiated until the record is approved or rejected.
    • Skip All (F8): Skip all time approval records that are presented.

You can also press the clear button on the clock to return to the badge entry screen.

Once all time approval records have been displayed you will be returned to the badge entry screen.

Note: If time approval records are presented during clock-out, the end of the shift (clock-out) is recorded when the last time approval record is processed. The time spent approving records is included in the shift and the calculation of pay.
