Configuring and scheduling the Time Approval Records Task

To provide the records for approval, schedule and configure the Time Approval Records Task.

  1. Log in to the desktop application.
  2. Select Maintenance > System Administration > Job Scheduler
  3. Select Add Schedule.
  4. Specify a Task Description.
  5. Select Java Task for the Task Type.
  6. Select Time Approval Records Task from the drop down list.
  7. As required, specify Scheduled Time, Scheduling Time, Blackout Period, and Scheduling Range. See the Job Scheduler chapter of the Infor Workforce Management Time and Attendance Implementation and Administration Guide.

If the approval type is set to Day, then the task should run at least once a day so that employees can see the records the next day. If the approval type is set to Week, the task may only need to run once a week. However the Start Date Offset and End Date Offset values must be provided in the following steps to capture all records for the prior week.

  8. Select Submit.
  9. Locate the newly created task using the Task Description.
  10. Select Parameters.
  11. Specify one or more of these parameters to indicate the time approval records that you want generated:
    • Apply to Teams
    • Apply to Sub Teams
    • Apply to Calc Groups
    • Apply to Pay Groups
    • Apply to Reader Groups
    • Apply to Employees
  12. Specify dates in the Start Date Offset and End Date Offset fields.

The application uses the offsets to determine the scan range for records that have not been approved or rejected previously by an employee. The start date offset value indicates the start of the range in days before today. The end date offset value indicates the end of the range in days before today. Specify the number of days in both fields. Do not specify calendar dates. For example:

    Today’s Date: May 13, 2014

    Start Date Offset: 7

    End Date Offset: 1

With this information the application scans for records between May 6, 2014 and May 12, 2014.

If Offset dates are not provided then the application will only display future records beginning on the effective date indicated in the time approval settings.

  13. Specify the maximum number of records to be retrieved and processed at one time, in the Batch Process Size field. The default value is 100.
  14. Click Submit.

The task setup is complete. The task will now run based on the specified schedule.
