Enabling biometric validation

  1. Select Maintenance > Reader Setup > Readers.
  2. Click the Edit link next to the reader.
  3. In the Biometric Mode list, select one of these values:
    Identification
Select this option to allow employees to clock by only providing a fingerprint or showing their face to the camera. Employees must first be enrolled for biometric validation. A badge is not required with this option, although for configuration purposes a placeholder badge for the employee must be entered in the system.

See Entering placeholder badges for employees using Identification mode.

You should also note that Identification mode on the 8000 Series clock requires OS 1.4.3 Patch D. Contact Infor Support if you need more information on upgrading to this OS and patch level.

Note: Identification mode is only supported for WFM version 6.4.x+ and Clock version 7.0.x+. If you have deployed WFM 6.4.x+ and you want to use this feature, you can upgrade your clocks to 7.0.x+ and then in WFM modify the Biometric Mode using the steps outlined in Enabling Identification mode in WFM version 6.4.x+ and clock version 7.0.x+.
    Verification
Select this option to enable biometric validation for your clock so that employees must enroll their fingerprint or face for facial recognition, and then use the fingerprint or facial recognition to validate themselves after providing a badge.
Note: To enable biometric validation for clock version 6.1.4.0+ and WFM version 6.1.4.0 or lower, see Enabling biometric validation for WFM version 6.1.4.0 and lower and clock version 6.1.4.0+.
  4. Click Save.
  5. Select Maintenance > Employees > Employee Badge.
  6. Click the Edit link next to the employee badge.
  7. Select Enable Biometrics.
  8. Click Save.
