Using biometric validation

Biometric authentication is disabled by default in the application and on the clock. Biometric validation can be enabled at the reader and employee level to provide flexibility in its implementation.

Two forms of biometric validation are available:

  • Fingerprint scanning
  • Facial recognition

The employee's biometric fingerprints are synchronized across all reader groups to which they are assigned. If you are updating existing fingerprints for an employee, this change is also synchronized across all reader groups.

Note: If you enable both PIN and biometric authentication for an employee, the clock will only use biometric authentication. For this reason, we recommend that you only enable one type of authentication in your configuration.
