Setting Up Labor Budgeting Locations

The budgeting modules use LFSO locations, except for the locations that have been specifically excluded. See Excluding Locations from Labor Budgeting.

You must map each location that you want to use in Labor Budgeting to a Labor Budgeting location type.

To view the locations and location hierarchy in LFSO, select Scheduling > Schedule Optimization > Setup > Location.

To add a location:

  1. Select Maintenance > Optional Modules > Labor Budgeting > Labor Budgeting Settings > Labor Budgeting Locations.
  2. Specify this information:
    1. Click Create New Entry.

The Labor Budgeting Location Detail page opens.

    2. Select the Labor Budgeting location type to link to the specified location using the Location Type lookup.
      • Map only one location to the CORPORATE location type.
      • The location mapped to the CORPORATE location type must be the root location in LFSO.
    3. Select the location as defined in LFSO using the Location lookup.
    4. Select the Release to Location check box for each location to which to release a budget/forecast to this location automatically after forecast generation or by mass-release from the Worksheet.

If the Release to Location check box is cleared (not selected) for a location, then the budget/forecast is not released to that location. Instead, the budget/forecast is released to the next available location for which this check box is selected. For example, suppose the regional manager wants to exclude a newly hired store manager from the solicitation process. The Release to Location check box is cleared for that particular store location and selected for the district, which is the level above the store. This option releases the forecast only to the district manager. By default, the Release to Location check box is not selected for any locations. See Specifying where to release the forecast.

The Release to Location check box is not relevant for the Budget Creation module. This option is part of the solicitation process in the Budget Management module.

    5. Click Save.
  3. Repeat the previous steps for each location that you want to add to Labor Budgeting.
To edit an existing Labor Budgeting location, click Edit beside a Labor Budgeting location. For example, if a budget manager is not assigned to a location, you may want to edit the Release to Location setting for that location.
