Job sets in LFSO

Job sets in LFSO are configured to designate jobs as equivalent for qualification purposes. The Honor Position rule considers parent and child jobs as equivalent qualifications when assigning shifts. Employees qualified for a child job in a job set can be assigned to shifts that cover the requirement for the parent job. Employees qualified for the parent job can be assigned to shifts for one of the child jobs. Child jobs are not considered as equivalent qualifications for other child jobs in the same job set.

This can be useful if employees have multiple job titles imported from an HR system that cover the same functional position. For example, a job set is created for the Cashier job that includes Junior Cashier and Senior Cashier as child jobs. This table shows if employees with each job qualification can be assigned to shifts that cover each job requirement when Auto-Assignment generates a schedule with the Honor Position rule enabled.
Shift Job
Employee Job Cashier Junior Cashier Senior Cashier
Cashier Yes Yes Yes
Junior Cashier Yes Yes No
Senior Cashier Yes No Yes

An Employee Job Filter only selects employees with the exact job or jobs specified in the filter. It does not consider job sets. For the example above, a filter for the Cashier job would only select employees with the Cashier job, and it would not select Junior Cashier or Senior Cashier employees. You can create a filter with multiple jobs specified if you require an Auto-Assignment group that schedules employees with any of the jobs selected in the filter.
