Configuring weekend definition

The Weekend Definition tab is where you can set the beginning and end of the weekend for the Auto-Assignment group. Auto-Assignment applies the WEEKEND shift type to shifts that are scheduled during weekend time. The WEEKEND shift type can be used with rules that govern minimum and maximum numbers of shifts. For example, the Minimum Shifts Per Time Period rule can be configured to require that every employee be assigned at least one weekend shift per assignment period.

Note:
  • The weekend definition can affect performance, depending on the configuration of weekend rules. See Performance considerations for Auto-Assignment.
  • The WEEKEND shift type is only added to shifts to enforce Auto-Assignment rules. It cannot be applied through Shift Configuration in MVS.
