Schedule locks and Auto-Assignment
Auto-Assignment processes lock employee schedules. This prevents users or other features
from altering the schedule during schedule generation. The system locks schedules during the
Auto-Assignment period for all employees selected by the Auto-Assignment group filters. Locks
are applied when the Auto-Assignment process is initiated and are removed when the finished
schedule is generated.
Beginning with release 2023.10, managers can override a locked employee when the draft Auto-Assignment schedule is presented.
Here is an example: Suppose an employee's normal schedule is Monday through Friday. The employee has requested and been approved for a partial week off from Wednesday through Friday which means the employee's work week is locked A shift becomes available on Monday and the employee is willing to work. The scheduler can override the lock for the week and schedule the employee for Monday.
