Passwords

To preserve the security of information and to ensure a user’s identification is kept secure, users must change their passwords on a periodic basis. When a password is about to expire, the application sends the user a password alert message, which requires the user to change their password before the expiry date. The length of time a password is valid is the password life.

Use registry parameters to set the password life and the time when the password alert is sent.

Users must follow the criteria set in the registry parameters when changing their password.

Note: To check the application for weak or default passwords, you can use System Health Check and specify the Password Check tag to run the appropriate tests. These tests will also provide a list of user names that have weak or default passwords. For more information, see Using System Health Check.
