Assigning users and employees to labor metric security groups

You can define who is assigned to labor metric security (LMS) groups by adding application security groups, teams, calculation groups, and pay groups to LMS groups.

LMS can be based on the logged-in user or the employee whose timesheet is being modified.

Adding security groups or teams assigns their users to the LMS group. Employees are assigned by adding teams, calculation groups, or pay groups. Users or employees that match the selection criteria are added to the LMS group.

Users and employees can be assigned to LMS groups indefinitely or for a certain time period. For example, if a team is working on a special project for a month and needs access to restricted labor metrics the team normally cannot access, you can assign the team to the appropriate LMS group just for the one month.

Additionally, you can define on which timesheet dates employees can apply labor metrics by using the Work Record Start Date and Work Record End Date fields. Secured labor metrics can only be applied to timesheet dates within the specified date range.

  1. Select Maintenance > Labor Metrics > Labor Metric Security.
  2. Click Edit next to the labor metric security group you want to update.
  3. In the Labor Metric Security Group Permissions section, click the new row icon.
  4. Select the labor metric security group from the Labour Metric Security lookup.
  5. Select a value from only one of these fields:
    Security Group
    Select the security group that you want to assign to the LMS group using the lookup.
    Team
    Select the team that you want to assign to the LMS group using the lookup.
    Calculation Group
    Select the calculation group that you want to assign to the LMS group using the lookup.
    Pay Group
    Select the pay group that you want to assign to the LMS group using the lookup.
  6. Optionally, complete these fields:
    Start Date
    Specify the date the employees are assigned to the LMS group. The default value is 01/01/1900.
    End Date
    Specify the date you want the employees removed from the LMS group. The default value is 01/01/3000.
    Work Record Start Date
    Specify the work date when employees can start using the secured labor metrics. The default value is 01/01/1900.
    Work Record End Date
    Specify the date when employees can no longer use the secured labor metrics. The default value is 01/01/3000.

    Leave the date fields with their default values to permanently assign the selected employees to the LMS group and allow them to use the secured labor metrics for any timesheet date.

  7. Click Save.
