Catalog Versus Instances
Each rule and filter exists in the following catalogs:
Schedule compliance comes with a comprehensive set of core rules and core filters. You can also add custom rules and custom filters to the catalog.
Rule and filter instances
You can add a rule or filter from the catalog to a schedule compliance group. The system copies the rule or filter from the catalog into the schedule compliance group. Once in the schedule compliance group, you can configure an instance of the rule or filter.
The changes that you make to the rule or filter instance in the schedule compliance group do not affect the rule or filter in the catalog. For example, if you customize the message in the rule instance, the message in the rule catalog is not affected.
