FTE in self-scheduling rules

Full-time Equivalent (FTE) units can be used in self-scheduling rules to determine which employees a rule applies to. When a range of FTE values is specified in the Employee Constraint section of a self-scheduling rule, the rule is enforced for employees that have a value in the FTE field in their employee profile that is within this range.

Self-scheduling rules can enforce employee FTE values as a minimum or maximum for selecting shifts. When the Employee FTE option is selected in the Shift Constraints section, the rule uses the FTE value from the employee profile as the minimum or maximum value to enforce for each employee. The Where Number equals field is not considered for rules that enforce employee FTE.

For rules enforcing employee FTE, shift lengths are converted to FTE units based on the number of minutes specified in the BASE_FTE_WEEKLY_RATE registry parameter. For example, this registry parameter is set to 2400 minutes (40 hours), and a maximum rule is created that specifies Employee FTE and is enforced on a weekly basis. The rule would be triggered if an employee with 1.0 FTE selects a shift that puts them over 40 hours in a week.
