Time Off Approval

Provides a Time Off Approval view in which users can act on time off requests. This page is based on the Time Off Planner.

For example, users can view existing requests and their statuses, approve or reject a time off request, and change the team to be displayed. If the time off request includes an attachment, users can view or download the attachment on their device.

In addition to time off requests, the Time Off Approval page displays information about existing LTA overrides that were applied directly on the employee's timesheet. As LTAs have a direct effect on whether an employee is expected to be at work, information about these overrides is valuable to both employees and supervisors. These overrides cannot be edited or canceled within the page. LTA overrides have a status of Applied.

The Time Off Approval page can also display information about existing premium and elapsed time overrides depending on the LTA_OVERRIDE_TYPES_TO_SHOW_IN_TIME_OFF_PLANNER registry parameter. When configured, premium and elapsed time overrides with LTA time codes on the employee's timesheet are displayed. For these overrides, a duration is displayed instead of start and end times (for example, 3h 45m). The symbols for hours ("h") and minutes ("m") can be localized. These overrides cannot be edited or canceled within the page. Overrides have a status of Applied.

When viewing requests, users can select the Home Teams Only filter option to exclude employees from being displayed on teams to which they are temporarily assigned. When selected, employees are only displayed under their home team (or teams if they are on multiple home teams within the month being displayed).

A legend is provided to explain the request statuses that can be displayed on the Time Off Approval page:

  • Pending Approval
  • Approved/Applied
  • Pending Cancellation
  • Cancelled/Denied/Recalled
Note: When using mass approval, only the days of the requests that are within the displayed date range are approved or denied. No action is performed on requests outside of the displayed date range.

Time off approval for MVS users

In addition to the normal processing of time off requests, the application can generate a relief shift as part of the approval of a time off request. The relief shift backfills the workload that was originally covered by the requesting employee. Upon approving a request, the supervisor is required to select a relief shift status, for example, Unfilled.

Note: To use this feature, the PLUGINS registry parameter must be set to es-mvsTimeOffPlannerPlugin. For details, see "PLUGINS" in the Infor Workforce Management Registry Parameter Reference Guide.

Only shifts that are scheduled by MVS and covered by the approved time off request can generate relief shifts. Shifts that are scheduled using other scheduling mechanisms do not generate relief shifts upon time off approval. Rejected time off requests also do not generate relief shifts.

See the Infor Workforce Management MVS Implementation and Administration Guide.
