Drivers are logical forecasting entities that usually correspond to sales information about the store or a subset of that store. Drivers hold all of the historical information that is used in the forecasting process. They are also used in the process of creating automatic distributions. Some examples of drivers include Total Sales, Cashier Transactions, and Clothing Units Sold. Each driver belongs to a store and is associated with a department by the staff requirements setup. A driver may be used in more than one department’s staff requirements.

Drivers are where the forecast type is specified. See Forecast creation.

Each driver has an indicator for the kind of staffing standard to be used.
