Master Rotation and One-time Schedule

The performance of the Master Rotation (MR) and One-time Schedule (OTS) edit screens is affected by the total number of shift cells that are loaded at a given time. Having a large number of employee rows or opening a schedule for a long time period increases the number of shift cells and can cause slow performance. The total number of shift cells can be expressed by this formula:

Number of rows in the rotation x Number of days displayed = Total shift cells
This table lists the supported maximum amount of data that can be loaded on the MR and OTS edit screens at a given time:

The number of days rendered when opening an OTS is equal to the length of the entire OTS. When opening an MR in DRAFT status, the number of days rendered in the MR edit screen is the length of one schedule rotation. Users specify the number of days to display when opening an active MR or OTS template.

The maximum length of an OTS schedule that users can create is configured in the OTS_NUMBER_OF_DAYS registry parameter. The maximum number of days that users can display for active MRs and OTS templates is configured in the MR_MAX_SELECT_DAYS registry parameter. Warnings are displayed to users when attempting to create a rotation or load a rotation for a date range that is likely to cause poor performance. The size limits that determine when to display these warnings are configurable using the Rotation Types maintenance form.
