Configuring the location of clock punch actions on the TimeTrack landing page

TimeTrack uses a grid system to determine the location of the various clock punch actions on the landing page. The location of each action is fully configurable.

  1. Select Maintenance > Reader Setup > Reader Configurations > Configuration Property Definitions.
  2. In the search box, specify location and click Find.
  3. You will see these properties with associated descriptions, data type and default values. For example, ui.action.clock_in.location controls the location of the clock in action.
    ui.action.clock_in.location
    ui.action.clock_out.location
    ui.action.break_start.location
    ui.action.break_end.location
    ui.action.timecode_change.location
    ui.action.department_change.location
    ui.action.project_change.location
    ui.action.job_change.location
    ui.action.docket_change.location
  4. The clock actions are displayed using a grid-system and follow these rules on desktop and tablet computers for landscape mode. It will be a different configuration for portrait mode:
    • Actions 1 to 6 are displayed from left to right on the first row of the first landing page.
    • Actions 7 to 12 are displayed on the first row of the second landing page.
  5. You can modify the appropriate location property for your business needs in the current reader configuration for your TimeTrack clock.

It is a best practice to create a configuration for a tablet that will be landscape and another configuration for portrait. This ensures maximum flexibility in your deployment.

Note: You should be careful when assigning clock punch actions to locations on the TimeTrack UI. If you specify the same location number for two actions, one of the actions may not appear on the clock. Each clock punch action must have a unique number.
