Setting the clock system information

The first step to installing the WB2000 is setting the system information, such as the IP address and network subnet mask, during the startup configuration. You must connect the WB2000 to power and your network using an Ethernet connection. Once connected, the WB2000 Series Clock automatically powers on.

You can set the clock system information by following the prompts displayed on the screen. To cycle through menu items or available options, press the Clear button. To select an item, press the Enter button.

  1. Press and hold the Clear and Enter buttons simultaneously for approximately five seconds.
    The clock beeps and displays TSD Mode Selection.
  2. Press Clear repeatedly to cycle through the menus until the Enter Setup Mode is displayed.
  3. Press Enter.
    Note: While most settings can be left at their default values, confirm or set the settings in these steps. If a setting is not mentioned in this procedure, leave that setting at the default value.
  4. Press Clear repeatedly to cycle through the menus until Select Host Connect is displayed.
  5. Press Enter.
  6. Select TCP/IP for the data transport protocol and press Enter.
  7. Select Socket Type: Client Mode at the Setup Socket prompt and press Enter. This selection connects the clock reader to the designated host using a TCP/IP connection.
  8. Set the Socket Port to 02500 and press Enter. This is the default value.
  9. Select Static TCP/IP at the Setup Addressing Type prompt and press Enter.
  10. Specify the clock reader's IP address at the Setup Clock IP prompt and press Enter.
  11. Specify the WBCS IP address at the Setup Host IP prompt and press Enter.
  12. Specify the network subnet mask (255.255.255.000) at the Setup Sub-Net Mask prompt and press Enter.
    Note: The subnet mask address is 255.255.255.000 on most networks.
  13. Select Yes at the Setup Router IP prompt and press Enter.
  14. Specify the gateway IP address at the Setup Router ID prompt and pressEnter.
  15. Select Auto Negotiate at the Setup Ethernet Mode prompt and press Enter. The Ethernet Mode defines the network speed with which the clock reader and the clock server communicate.
  16. Select Yes at the Append TCP Data with EOT prompt and press Enter.
  17. Select No at the Initialize the TCP/IP stack prompt and press Enter.
    If setting a password for TSD Mode access, ensure to record the password. Keep the password record in a safe place.
  18. Select Exit Setup Mode when finished and press Enter.
  19. Select Yes when asked to perform a hardware reset.
