Enabling biometric validation

  1. Select Maintenance > Reader Setup > Readers.
  2. Click the Edit link next to the reader.
  3. In the Biometric Mode list, select one of these values:
    Identification
Select this option to allow employees to clock by only providing a fingerprint for the clock. Employees have to enroll a fingerprint on the clock and then use the fingerprint to validate themselves. A badge is not required with this option, although for configuration purposes a placeholder badge for the employee must be entered in the system. For more information on how to do this, see Entering placeholder badges for employees using Identification mode.
Note: Identification mode is only supported for WFM version 6.4.x+ and Clock version 7.0.x+. If you have deployed WFM 6.4.x+ and you want to use this feature, you can upgrade your clocks to 7.0.x+ and then in WFM modify the Biometric Mode using the steps outlined in Enabling identification mode in WFM version 6.4.x+ and clock version 7.0.x+.
    Verification
Select this option to enable biometric validation for your clock so that employees have to enroll a fingerprint on the clock and then use the fingerprint to validate themselves after providing a badge.
  4. Click Save.
  5. Select Maintenance > Employees > Employee Badge.
  6. Click the Edit link next to the employee badge.
  7. Select Enable Biometrics.
  8. Click Save.

Once biometric validation is enabled, employee(s) must enroll a fingerprint at the clock specified by the reader above. For instructions on how to enroll fingerprints, see the Infor Workforce Management 9000 Series Clock User Guide.
