Enabling PIN validation

PIN authentication is enabled by default in the application. If PIN authentication was previously disabled, follow these steps to enable the feature.

Note: If you enable both PIN and biometric authentication for an employee, the clock will only use biometric authentication. For this reason, we recommend that you only enable one type of authentication in your configuration.

  1. Select Maintenance > Reader Setup > Readers.
  2. Click the Edit link next to the reader.
  3. Clear the Disable PIN Validation check box.
  4. Click Save.
  5. Select Maintenance > Employees > Employee Badge
  6. Click the Edit link next to the employee badge.
  7. Enter a PIN for the employee.
    To apply this change to many employees, import the PIN numbers into the employee badge records.
  8. Click Save.
