What are interventions and intervention lists?

Interventions define tasks, including treatments or activities, that may be performed in the course of patient care.

An intervention library is maintained that stores the list of interventions that an organization's units are required to perform.

Interventions are translated into hours of care. The intervention time calculated depends on how the intervention is scored, in a count or in minutes.

A set of flags can be set on an intervention that affect the workload requirements.

Government reporting and patient alert codes can also be specified.
Note: In the previous version of the product, Infor Staffing Optimizer for Healthcare, the term instruments was used for intervention list.

Intervention categories are used to group the intervention library. Intervention categories include a description and a display order that is used in the Patient Assignment screen and reports. An intervention category must be selected when adding new interventions to the library. You can create new intervention categories or edit the existing ones according to an organization's requirements.

Each unit includes an intervention list that is derived from the intervention library, which can then apply the interventions to patients. Interventions can be added or deleted to the intervention lists according to differences in workload when performed by that unit.
