Enabling hard constraints

Hard constraints are disabled by default. They can be enabled using Config mode.

  1. Click Scheduling > Auto-assignment > Auto-assignment Groups
  2. Click Turn ON config mode.
  3. Edit an existing group.
Note:  If no groups exist, click Create New Entry, specify any information in the required fields, and click Save.
  4. Click the Rules tab.
  5. Specify the Minimum Shifts Per Time Period rule in the Add Rule field and click Add Rule.
  6. Enable the Rule Type check-box and select Hard, Soft or Preference for each rule.
  7. For a rule designated as a Preference, configure a weight in the Weight column.
  8. Click the lock icon for the Hard Constraint field.
  9. Enable hard constraints for the desired security groups by specifying Act in the Permission Flag list.
  10. Click Save and close the pop-up.
  11. Click Turn OFF config mode.
Hard constraints are now enabled. You can now make a rule a hard constraint by enabling the Rule Type and Hard Constraint check boxes.
