Associated jobs in MVS

Associated jobs in MVS are configured to designate a group of jobs as equivalent for qualification purposes. The Honor Position rule considers associated jobs as equivalent qualifications. If the job on an unassigned shift is part of a set of associated jobs, any employee that possesses the parent job or any of the associated child jobs are qualified to work the shift.

An Employee Job Filter only selects employees with the exact job or jobs specified in the filter. It does not consider associated jobs. For example, Senior RN is a child job of RN. An Employee Job Filter for the RN job would only select employees with the RN job, and it would not consider Senior RN employees. You can create an Employee Job Filter with multiple jobs specified if you require an Auto-Assignment group that schedules employees with any job in a set of associated jobs.
