Configuring the Daylight Savings Rule

The rule must be reconfigured for employees in locations that do not use DST.

To configure the Daylight Saving Rule:

  1. Go to the Quick Rule Editor.
  2. Select the calculation group.
  3. In the left-side panel, click Daylight Saving Rule.
  4. Specify these parameters:
    • Employee Timezone: GMT-07:00N
    • Premium Time Code: BONUS
    • Pay Representation: Hour Types

These parameters can vary depending on the time zone and the premium time code.

  5. Click Apply.
  6. In the Condition Sets area, click Edit.
  7. In the Description field, describe the time zone (for example, AZ for Arizona).
  8. In the Condition lookup, select Is Employee Property Generic Condition, and click Apply.
  9. In the Expression String field, specify tzId=6.
This value should match the TZ_ID value from the TIMEZONE table. In this case, 6 is the America/Phoenix time zone.
  10. Click Apply.
  11. Configure a separate condition set for each distinct time zone that does not observe DST (for example, one for Arizona and one for Hawaii).
To add a new condition set:
    1. Click New Condition Set at the bottom right.
    2. Enter the description of the time zone (for example, NV for Nevada).
    3. Click Add Condition.
  12. Repeat steps 8-10, this time specifying the TZ_ID for the next time zone that you want to configure.
  13. Configure the rule (for example, Hawaii):
    • Employee Timezone: GMT-10:00N
    • Premium Time Code: BONUS
    • Pay Representation: Hour Types
  14. Click Apply.
  15. Save the calculation group.
  16. Repeat the previous steps for each affected calculation group.
