Exporting Required Fields

In many cases, not all of the employee fields listed in the Employee Export Interface Field Specification section are required to be exported. Some clients require only a subset of the available exported entities (that is, balances, jobs, and employee data).

For this purpose, you can modify the HR EXPORT mapping definition's XML mapping directives to contain only the required fields. Alternatively, you can create a new mapping definition with the required fields.

Note: Certain fields must exist in the XML export mapping to process other fields. One example of this is the Emp_UDF_Data1 field. The Emp_UDF_Data1 field must exist in the XML definition to process the remaining employee UDF data. See Employee Export Interface Field Specification.
