Adding Recalculate Tasks

You can schedule the Recalculate task to run once, daily, weekly, or monthly from the Job Scheduler. Both the configuration of the Recalculate Task’s parameters and the selection of the task’s schedule require planning. The more changes the task is configured to search for, the more records the task potentially recalculates, and the longer the task will take to run. Running the task frequently reduces the chance of having inaccurate, out-of-date records, but requires more processing time.

When you add the Recalculate Task to a schedule with the Job Scheduler, you must configure the task by selecting values for the different parameters. We recommend that you only configure the parameters that deal with the types of changes and elements that drive the recalculation of employee records.

For example, if employees use the Weekly Timesheet to record their worked time, instead of clocking on and off, you would not configure the Recalculate Task to reprocess employee clocks.

The Recalculate Task retains the parameters that were defined the last time the task ran. Therefore, you cannot run multiple instances of this task for different calculation groups with different task parameters defined.
