Shift patterns

For a schedule bid shift pattern, you must identify a set of shift patterns from which the employees can choose to bid. Shift patterns are a set of shifts that are worked in a pre-defined order. For example, a 7-day shift pattern could be opening shift Day 1, Day 2, and Day 3; evening shift Day 4 and Day 5; and off Day 6 and Day 7. Shift patterns are defined as part of the Scheduling module. For more information about shift patterns, see "Scheduling" in the Time and Attendance Implementation and Administration Guide.

When you add shift patterns to schedule bids, you must indicate the number of positions that are required for each shift pattern.

For the shift patterns to be used, you must set the Schedule Bidding Method field to Pattern in the schedule bid.

Employees that are awarded their bids will be assigned to their shift pattern through a shift pattern override.
