Creating custom reports

Cognos Analytics - Reporting is a web-based tool that report authors can use to create reports that analyze corporate data based on their business needs. The reporting tool is accessed in Workforce Management from Maintenance > System Administration > Toolkit > Workforce Performance - Report Authoring. Custom reports can be registered in the application to make them available to other Workforce Management users.

Workforce Management users must have the appropriate permissions to access the reporting tool. It is recommended that report authors have the WBI Report Authors role. To reduce the chance of unintended changes to the sample report template or other reports or functions, it is not recommended that report authors have the WBI Administrators role.

This guide assumes that you can create and modify reports with the Cognos Analytics - Reporting tool. For details on how to use the reporting tool, refer to the Cognos Analytics - Reporting documentation on the IBM website.

Note: The UI for the Cognos Analytics Report Authoring Tool is subject to change which may affect the documentation in this section. You may need to refer to the IBM documentation to gain a full understanding of how to use the Report Authoring Tool. This section is merely a quick start for report authors.
