Creating ad-hoc shifts

You can create ad-hoc shifts in ASV to cover unanticipated staffing requirements or for any other reason. A new ad-hoc shift can be assigned to an employee or created as an unassigned shift. You can create ad-hoc shifts based on a predefined shift configuration, and you can customize the shift details during the creation process.

You can also create simple shifts by specifying the shift times and work or on-call activity. Simple shifts are not connected to a shift configuration, and they are displayed using the shift's start and end time, instead of a shift label.

ASV can be configured to always create ad-hoc shifts as published shifts. ASV can also be configured to create ad-hoc shifts as unpublished shifts when the shift is created during a schedule period that has not been published yet.

See "Default status of ad-hoc shifts" in the Infor Workforce Management MVS Implementation and Administration Guide.
