Staffing Center unit header information

The Staffing Center provides information in the header of each level. The information can be presented in the two workload modes Hours and FTE. This topic discusses the information using the Workload in Hours mode.

The Staffing Center provides this information when Workload in hours mode is used:

  • Patients Scored

    Displays the number of patients scored in the unit. The scoring process assesses the level of care required for each patient. This score is used as a basis for staffing.

    This information is provided by the Infor Care Integration module, when the module is available.

  • Census

    Displays the number of patients in the unit.

    This information is provided by the Infor Care Integration module, when the module is available.

  • HPPD

    Displays the Hours Per Patient Day (HPPD). This number is calculated by [Required hours /Patients Scored]. This number represents the number of hours of care required by each patient in the unit for the shift.

  • Required

    Displays the total hours needed to provide care for the patients in the unit. This number can be based on information from two different sources. One source can be the Schedule template. The other source can be the Infor Care Integration module, when the module is available.

  • Scheduled

    Displays the total hours scheduled for the unit.

  • [hours shortfall or surplus]

    Displays the number of hours over or under the required hours shown in the Required column. The number is calculated by [Scheduled hours - Required hours]. If the number is :

    • Negative then a shortfall and under staffing is indicated.
    • Positive then a surplus and over staffing is indicated.
