Employee requests

A store manager can request an employee from another location to help with scheduling needs. To ensure a seamless ELaB interaction, the borrow manager will need to communicate with the loan manager (outside LFSO) about these points:

  • exact dates of the borrow period

  • exact employee to be loaned/borrowed

  • if eligibility is a factor, whether the ELaB employee is eligible for the job to which the employee will be assigned. (For instructions about creating labor metric security (LMS) groups and assigning employees and jobs to LMS groups, see the Infor Workforce Management Time and Attendance Implementation and Administration Guide.)

Once the borrow manager has all of the necessary information, you must fill in the Employee Loan Request form that specifies which store needs the employee, which store has the employee, the employee to be borrowed, and the date range for the borrow period.

Before the request is sent for approval, validation verifies that the requested employee is not already scheduled during the borrow period. If the employee is currently scheduled, the home manager will be notified. (Then the employee can choose to approve the request in spite of the scheduled shifts or to reject the request because of them.)

The request must be approved by a user with an appropriate role (by default, a manager or supervisor) in the loan location.

The role responsible for approving the Employee Loan Request form can be configured by modifying the workflow node properties. For more information, contact Infor Consulting Services.

Loan managers can only approve or reject the entire borrow period; they cannot modify the length of the borrow period. So, if the loan request is for a borrow period of an entire week and the home manager is only able to lend the employee for certain days, the employee would have to reject the entire request period.

Upon approval, the requested employee will automatically be assigned to a team in the borrow location for the period requested. (The team assignment is temporary and does not affect the employee’s home team assignment.) If the request is rejected, the initiator of the loan request will be notified.

After the request is approved, the employee will be notified of their loan using Messages functionality.
